Tap Into Intuitive F low
By Rev. Stefanie Nagorka
ntuition is part of our creative mind, associated with the right side of the brain. here are several ways to access and develop this part of your brain.
Intuition tends to low when we are receptive. It can arise when we are moving through an important life change and are alone without the distractions of others. It can arise quite unexpectedly and spontaneously.
TRUST
he voice of intuition tends to be subtle and quiet. It oten speaks to us while we’re doing something or approaching an experience. We oten ignore it because it’s telling us something diferent than what people around us say. Keeping an open heart and open mind helps us feel, see and hear our intuition. I’ve learned that when I trust my intuition, I hear it more clearly.
TRY THE INDIRECT APPROACH
Sometimes the best way to stimulate the intuitive part of our mind is indirectly. Becoming involved with a repetitive, mindless or fa- miliar activity, and losing yourself (your rational mind) in that task, will allow your intuitive mind to surface. For instance, you can take a shower, sing the same song repeatedly, wash dishes or exercise.
MEDITATION
You can access your intuition in a focused way by clearly inviting your intuition in during meditation. Don’t be in a hurry. Make space for intuitive low. Practice listening.
DREAMS
Dreams can convey intuitive messages. Intuitive guidance in dreams can take many forms. For example, a person who has passed over might appear and hand you an object with a symbolic
meaning, or may talk with you and give you a message. Another way guidance emerges is through the appearance of an object or celestial body that points in a particular direction and infuses you with a positive quality or energy. Some examples of warnings in dreams include: something growing where it shouldn’t; something or someone telling you what you don’t want to hear; and the expe- rience of disruptive forces bigger than yourself. Writing down your dream experiences and relecting or meditating on them can open a dialog with your intuitive self and reveal hidden meanings.
PRACTICE
I know that the more times I do something the better I get at it. Over the thirty plus years I’ve been channeling intuitive low I have found that with experience the work is easier and clearer. When I started, I sat in development circles to connect with and focus intu- ition. So I ofer development circles that meet weekly for 6-week cycles to give participants the opportunity to practice intuitive low.
ITS NATURAL
As an artist and intuitive counselor, I experience intuition as a natural sense – my 6th sense, an innate ability experienced since childhood. Intuitive low has provided me valuable guidance on practical matters; understanding of and connection with animals and nature; insights into relationships; inspiration for creative proj- ects and a deep understanding of and connection with Spirit.
Intuition brings information that can help you. Sometimes
the inner message is simply to slow down. Other times, intuition provides clear insight into relationships, and can ofer a window through which we look into opportunities to come. Intuition can surface as a vague feeling, a focused thought, a mental image, and more. For best results, be open to the unique way that your intui- tive voice arises within you.
