Manifest Success By Marjorie Favuzzi
Editor’s Note: We are thrilled to welcome a gifted new columnist to our talented team! Marjorie Favuzzi is a Certified Life Coach, EFT Matrix Practitioner, ADD & Addiction Specialist and has worked as an ISP for the State of California, Dept. of Rehab. Since 1996 she has been helping her clients change the way their brains process experiences, thoughts and feelings, so they can eliminate blocks and achieve their goals.
Dear Readers:
This column is dedicated to manifesting; bringing our hopes, dreams and goals to life. We will explore new ways of harnessing the brain’s infinite capacity to focus, change and manifest.
We will start by exploring how we can come into the present moment, rather than being stuck in angst of the past or in future-tripping.
In order to manifest, you need to focus on the goal, initiate action and follow through to completion. Easier said than done! Many of us have great ideas but get stuck in procrastination, fueled by fear, perfectionism or limiting beliefs of what is possible. Keep reading to turn the brain from “I can’t” into “I can!”
ORGANIZING FROM WITHIN
Often, our brains are like Grand Central Station, with many thoughts arriving on different tracks at the same time. This
is known as the Monkey Mind. The Monkey Mind causes us
to be unable to focus on our stated goals. Our mind wanders from thought to thought, worry to worry. But to initiate action toward our desired goal, we need to be focused.
So how do we focus? Focus starts from within, by calming
the Monkey Mind so that we can organize our thoughts into a focused purpose. To organize our thoughts, we must first bring our whole being into the moment by somatically grounding ourselves in the body. This is very effectively done through Brain GymTM somatic exercises. These exercises integrate left and right brain by activating acupressure points on either
side of the body’s energy meridian. This calms the limbic system’s emotional responses to memories. It also calms the sympathetic nervous system, which activates the fight – flight – freeze response. Both of these systems are triggered by anxiety and limiting beliefs, immobilizing us from taking action.
To help you focus your brain, I have posted a series of 10-minute exercises on YouTube. These exercises are based on PACE.TM, (Positive, Action, Clarity, and Energy) from Brain
GymTM, and have some additional relaxation exercises added. (Search YouTube with the term Marjorie + PACE.) These simple 10-minute exercises are easy, quick, and effective ways to calm and focus the brain.
Just follow these steps:
1. Before you begin doing the simple exercises, take a few minutes to write down all the thoughts in your head. ALL the thoughts! Yes, all the thoughts.
2. Now do the exercises based on PACETM along with the short video to get focused in the moment.
3. Right after completing the exercises, pick up your pen and write down the thoughts that immediately come to mind.
4. Do you notice what has happened? You have calmed the limbic system, which seeks pleasure and wants to give you immediate satisfaction. You have also told the brain that it can stop sending cortisol, adrenaline and hormones, because the fight-flight-freeze response is not needed.
5. Take a moment to visualize yourself succeeding and note what that feels like. Write out a gratitude statement, including exactly how it feels, as if it has already happened. For example: “I am so grateful to be sitting in my brand new office, feeling the abundance of new clients paying me what I am worth.” Say it aloud with gratitude, knowing it is already manifesting.
7. Do the above daily for 21 days. Your brain is like a muscle and, with repetition, it will be easier to focus and know you will succeed!
