2.Become aware of symptoms. Monitor your child’s health. According to the World Health Organization, symptoms of sensitivity to electromagnetic fields include:
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Eye pressure
• Stress
• Sleep disturbances
• Skin symptoms like prickling, burning sensations, and
rashes
• Pain and ache in muscles • Heart palpitations
• Digestive disturbances
• Dizziness
• Nosebleeds
Note that your child does not have to be hypersensitive to manifest a response to Wi-Fi. If you notice any of these symptoms, begin to watch their responses to devices in general. Observe any reduction of symptoms when they are away from school.
3.Express concern to the administration. Inform the principal or school board of the hazards associated with wireless technology. Good information to support your presentation can be found at The Waves of Change website, (www.woctoheal.com). Click on Electrical Poisoning in the menu.
Make specific requests such as turning off the Wi-Fi during and after-school events. or offering electrosensitive students a Wi-Fi-free room or the use of wired devices.
4.Create and distribute informational flyers at school events. An excellent flyer has been created by Citizens for Safe Technology (www.citizensforsafetechnology. org/uploads/scribd/PFSS-flyer-proofDec18.pdf). The Environmental Health Trust offers the document Best Practices with Wireless Radiation for Schools (http:// ehtrust.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Schools-and- Wireless-and-Health-EHT-Preliminary-DraftAugust-2014. pdf), including images and research demonstrating the increased impact of cell phones and wireless devices
on children’s brains vs. adults and what laws have been passed to address the issue in other countries and parts of the U.S.
5.Consider alternative education options. Many school districts offer online programs for middle school and high school. Children can take one or two classes to keep
them socially active and engaged, and still spend most of their educational time in a Wi-Fi free environment. Many parents are choosing to homeschool exclusively because of this issue.
6.Make your home a safe environment—especially when sleeping. This is something every parent can do. If you
are overwhelmed with your child’s school environment, focus on the home. Turn off your Wi-Fi at home and use an Ethernet cable to connect to the Internet. Ethernet connection boxes can easily be wired to several rooms in the house, so that you can connect to the Internet from any room, without Wi-Fi.
For more suggestions on ways to take action at home, especially in the sleeping areas, see Sleep, Melatonin and Electronic Devices, (http://it-takes-time.com/2015/07/ melatonin-and-electronic-devices.html), which outlines 15 suggestions for creating a sleep sanctuary.
The purpose of providing this information here is not
to promote or to instill fear. Being fearful is not useful,
nor is it productive, and it can be detrimental to your health! I would urge you to become well informed and proactive. Take heart from the profound words of the great anthropologist and Wise Woman, Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Protecting Children From Smart Boards

*Non-ionizing radiation is radiation that does not carry enough energy per quantum (photon energy) to ionize atoms or molecules—that is, to completely remove an electron from an atom or molecule. Microwaves, Radio Frequency Waves, and Electromagnetic Frequency waves (EMFs), are non-ionizing forms of radiation. X-rays and fallout from nuclear explosions are categorized as Ionizing radiation, and are known to cause injury and death. Again, note that studies have shown that 24 hours
of exposure to cell phone (non-ionizing radiation) is equivalent in radiation levels and potential for cell damage to 1600 chest x-rays.
