Manifesting – Do You Have What It Takes?
In previous columns in The Wave, I’ve addressed how
to get focused, with brain exercises that really help. In the last column, I discussed how to get out of the trap of procrastination, with key tips on planning and beginning to move forward. These strategies were all to get your brain’s executive functions on board, so that you can move from intention into action.
In this issue, we’ll look at what gets in the way of manifesting success and abundance.
The Key to successfully manifesting what you want in your life is to align your energy, your thoughts, and right action with your deepest desire. In this way, you co-create your life with the Universe / God / Higher Power.
Many who learned of manifestation from films like The Secret, expect it to be fast and easy. But you have to get out of our own way to manifest, and this can take practice.
Your internal condition will dictate your external reality. If you wish to change your external reality, you must first change your internal condition. It’s an inside job, and here are the steps:
1. Get honest with your innermost inspiration and be very clear about what you want, or you’ll call in things you don’t really want. Focus on what you WANT, not what you don’t want, so your message is clear. The Universe must have clear direction from you regarding what you really want, in order to proceed to provide it to you.
2. Be willing to clean up the old story by working with the brain. The brain believes that everything you think is true, so you must cancel arising negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. You can do this
by referring to the present reality, such as “Today I am letting go of the old story and using new tools to manifest what I want.” The more we let go of negative beliefs,
the more we are able to imagine and acquire the visceral experience of manifesting our desire.
3. Become aware of what’s in the way. Ask yourself, “What are the yeah-buts that are in the way of manifesting what I want?” such as: I’m not worthy / I can’t really have that / I don’t know how.
4. Now ask yourself if these things are really true? Who would you be without these beliefs? These can be deep, life-changing questions. If you need help with this process, you may choose to work with a Life Coach or EFT professional.
5. Notice the beauty and abundance around you and write a DAILY gratitude list of 10 things you are grateful for now, and the 1 thing you want to bring into being, conjuring all the gratitude you will have, as if it was already here. For example, “ I am so grateful to have my own magnificent horse, and I love the feel of the wind in my hair as we gallop along.” Hold this energy and let the outside world reflect the unwavering faith you have inside, as you attract it to you.
6. Believe you can co-create your dream with the Universe – though you have no idea how it will manifest. By letting go of control, (the “how”), you open to more possibilities.
7. Most importantly, be patient. Remember that you are re-tuning your brain and your spirit, to manifest your desire – right here AND right now.
